Students

To support learning at West Coventry Academy we have a strong, well established pastoral system; the student is at the heart of this system. We have high expectations in terms of uniform, behaviour and attendance and the rewards system gives students the opportunity to gain recognition for good behaviour and positive contributions to the school community. The library is at the heart of the school and the space is used extensively in lesson time and by students at break, lunchtime and after school.

As well as this, students at West Coventry Academy have access to an extensive range of extra-curricular opportunities. We offer a wide range of educational visits to support the curriculum, as well as the Duke of Edinburgh Award and an opportunity to be part of the Student Leadership team. There is a full time dedicated Careers Advisor on site who is available to offer advice and guidance to students throughout their time with us.

The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is committed to keeping our students safe, both in school and the wider community. As part of our safeguarding arrangements, we have a two-way information sharing agreement in place with the local police authority. The agreement is compliant with Crime & Disorder Act 1998 (s.115) and Data Protection Act 1998(s.29.3; s.35.2.), and focuses on preventing young people from becoming involved or further involved in crime and anti-social behaviour as a victim or offender.
